More than 60 election signs vandalized

More than 60 election signs belonging to a Caddo County candidate were vandalized last week, according to the Caddo County Sheriff's Department.

According to reports, between 60-70 campaign signs over a wide part of the county belonging to Robert Weaver were destroyed or stolen by a vandal, or vandals. The estimated value of the signs that were cut or stolen is about $3,000, according to Weaver's wife, Ronda.

Robert Weaver is running against Ricky Schuermann for a position on the Caddo County Commissioners Court.

Based on reports, signage was destroyed or stolen ranging from the Comanche County line to Fort Cobb Lake and from Carnegie to Fort Cobb.

According to state law, damage to an election sign is punishable as a misdemeanor and can carry a fine.
