Mary 'June' Entz

Mary June Entz was born May 23, 1931, to John Albert and Mary (Forneris) Andrews in Coalgate, OK. She passed away Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2022, at the Ranchwood Nursing Home in Yukon, OK at the age of 91.
June graduated from Coalgate High School. June’s father passed away when she was 12, and upon graduation, she worked at the Coal County Courthouse in order to help her mother and help raise her siblings. She and her sisters moved to Oklahoma City where she worked for Southwestern Bell.
June met Lee Entz on a blind date and they were married on May 5, 1956. They moved to the family farm west of Hinton where they raised three children along with sheep, cattle, and other livestock. She was an excellent cook and would always cook at harvest time to feed the harvest crews.
June worked as a cook at Methodist Camp and Knickerson Farms, and later worked at 3-M. After retiring from 3-M, in the late 1990’s to early 2000’s she worked for home health as a caregiver to many people in the Hinton and surrounding communities.

June lived at home until 2015 where she had an injury and moved to the West Side Village Apartments. She enjoyed playing cards and board games. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hinton. June was known as “Grandma June” by her grandkids and their friends. She helped in raising her grandkids; her house was open to them and there was always plenty to eat. In the summer of 2019, June was blessed to find out she had another grandson, Chris, Joe’s only child.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lee Entz; son, Joe Entz; siblings, Betty Lou Andrews, Bobby and Bill Andrews and special brother-in-law, Bob Smith.

June is survived by her two children: Donnie Entz and Lea Ann Entz both of Hinton; grandchildren: Trent Opitz of Lookeba, Jahree Edwards and husband, Dallas, of Yukon, Drew Entz, Kandice Entz, Thomas Entz and wife, Candy, all of Hinton, and Chris McLemore and wife, Courtney, of Guthrie; great-grandchildren, Brittney, Camrey, Jaylee, Masen, and Maddox, Makayla and Zane, Sharity, Cannon, and Carter, Hattie, Holland and Hogan; one great-great-grandchild, Bentlee; sister, Margaret Andrews of Oklahoma City; sister-in-law, Beth Andrews of Lexington; niece, Donna Smith and husband Brent of Lexington, OK; nephew, Bobby Andrews of Hinton, OK; and many other relatives and friends.

Services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13, 2022, at the First Baptist Church in Hinton, OK. Officiating were Rev. James Cudd and Rev. Cord Fowle Burial followed in the Hinton Cemetery.
